American Red Cross

Animal Services and Enforcement

Animals from the Ark Humane Society
Program: Program for animal adoption.

Autumn House
Program: Assisted living facility for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia. 24/hour daily supervision by licensed personnel.

B.R.A.V.E. Volunteer & Internship Program Program: Supports work of Brevard Co. Government to help better serve the citizens. This is a program designed to match needs of County Government offices.

Program: Assisted Living Facility. Specializing in Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related illnesses. Accepts respite residents; will accept crisis resident if space permits on short term basis. Nurses on duty 24 hours.

Habitat for Humanity, Space Coast
Program: Builds houses in partnership with low-income families’ houses that are decent and affordable through a zero-interest, non-profit mortgage. Uses volunteer labor and materials. Applicant families must have volunteered 400-500 hours and meet other criteria.

Volunteer needs: Volunteer hours vary but are usually needed on weekends to help build houses and assist doing anything at the worksite. Volunteers also are needed at the annual “Strawberry Festival”.

Literacy Program of Brevard County
Program: Teaches basic reading and writing skills to Brevard County residents. Teach English to non-speakers. Tutoring is done on a one-on-one basis.

Volunteer needs: The volunteer program consists of tutoring one-on-one, once or twice a week. It’s normally done at a neutral site at a library or church.

March of Dimes-Prenatal Care
Program: To improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality through community services, advocacy, research and education. Provides education on prenatal care.
