Dual Enrollment Apprenticeship program offered to High School Students... |
That's right! Academy of Construction Apprenticeships, along with Brevard Community College and Brevard County Schools are offering construction trade apprenticeship dual enrollment classes to High school students. The best part of this program is that it's free! Heating & Air Conditioning, Carpentry, and Electrical classes are held at the Palm Bay BCC campus. Electrical classes are also offered at Titusville High School. Requirements to enroll in one of these programs are: you must be 16 years old, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and have transportation to and from the campus. You spend 1/2 a day at your school, and 1/2 a day at the campus, and receive 3 letter grades on your report card. Upon completion of the Apprenticeship program. If you would like more information regarding these programs, talk to your High School Guidance Counselor, or call Donna Maheuron/Recruitment Coordinator at 321-433-5294 |
Getting Ready for College
• Be sure to sign up for SAT, and remember don't waste
time
• Really work on your study habits, time management skills, and work ethic.
Developing good habits now will save you later!
• Participate in extracurricular activities. This will show colleges
you are a well-rounded individual. Don't spread yourself too thin, though.
Colleges would rather see real commitment and leadership in a few activities
than shallow participation in many.
• Maintain good attendance, grades, and citizenship. Bad choices now can
hurt you later and be difficult to overcome.
• Choose challenging coursework, including advanced placement, dual enrollment,
and honors classes.
